how to make your own midpipe?

I have the rubber like one that I made a while ago. It fell apart, now I want to make the metal one that I read about awhile ago but I dont remember the websites address for the directions on how to.

I cant use the search function obviously so if anyone can point me in the direction of the site I would appreciate it...

THANKS

If you make it right it is. I used JB weld on my fittings to insure no leaks.

I used I30tMikeD's previous suggestion to use JB weld and it worked perfectly. I just finished mine, and there are no leaks at all! Good luck!

JB Weld is in the same category as Duct Tape and WD40. If you can't use it to fix what's broken, its not worth it.

Actually, its just a two part epoxy that cures overnight. It can be found at just about any hardware or automotive store.

I just made mine last night and I used silicone to seal where hose connections enter the actual mid-pipe. I also will be painting it as well and in theory the paint will also act as a sealant because if there is any type of crack the paint will seep into it and then dry. So, I don't expect any problems. Patience is the key in making the barbed connections fit, grind then test, grind then test, repeat. To give you an idea I pounded my threaded connection in part when and then it threaded into the pipe.

I used silcone the first time, it worked for a while but did not hold up in the long run.

I used high temp silicone adhesive. After that, I primered and painted it. Thats the third one I've made like that, and it works wonderfully.

I think I am going to have to nix the idea of making my own and just get the frankencar midpipe. I dont have the tools to drill the holes and neither did the few stores I went to to see if they could do it.

Oh well.
