I met up with some Max guys in Seguin last Friday and ran my car after installing the Trans-go shift kit. no other mods made to the car. I ran a 15.82 best time. My previous best time was a 16.26.
THIS IS A .4 DROP FROM JUST ONE MOD!
pretty good I guess, but I was hoping for .5-.6 sec drop.
Do my times look slow to you other lightly modded auto guys?
I think I may have gotten one that rolled off the assembly line a little slower than the aveage Max. I do have a 95(said to be faster) but do have 99SE rims(said to make it slower).
What do you guys think of my times?

You got an auto ... for an auto your times appear in the normal range from what I've seen on this site. Looks like your auto can now match my 5 speed.

I don't know man but I just got home and i got a 96 GLE and beat him, his front bumper was @ my tail lightz! I'm happy now! Ur time does look slow but where are you from? Maybe altitude was a prob. A guy around here ran a 15.2 w/ a turbo prelude and another ran a 15.6 w/ a s/c MAX!!!! Krayzie but traction was a MAJOR prob for both of them....and of course so was altitude........I am @ ~5,590' above sea level..where and how much do thize shifts kits cost? gotta get me one!

Weight

If I'm not mistaken, the GLE auto was the third heaviest of the year. The SE auto being the heaviest and the SE 5-speed coming in second. Correct me if I'm wrong. If you guys really care, I have my '96 Maxima brochure at home.

Re: Weight

You really can't generalize like that. Because everyone has different options on their cars. I think my SE is really heavy. Being auto and fully loaded with everything.
that don't stop me from flying though.. =) I still think I come in at under 3300lbs. Well under I would say.

What are your other mods? When I got my valve body from Don, it didn't really improve my time. Then again, I don't go to the track as much as I should to get a good test result. Nevertheless, the shifts are faster. It has to improve the time. The auto shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 during the 1/4 mile run. .3 seems reasonable improvement.

Nick, it's a valve body(VB) modification on the auto trans.
Search this site for 'Trans-Go'.
