ECU compatibility for 97gxe C&C
ECU compatibility for 97gxe C&C
when I get my 5speed conversion done I will need a 5speed ECU. I have a 97 auto gxe with C&C and no speed limiter. My question is what ECU will be compatable that will not have a limiter? would a 98 se manual work well? how about a 96se? I know this may sounds newbie'ish but I posted and read threads about this but never got a true answer so here it is again hoping to find what I am looking for.

If your not - get a 97 SE 5spd one
If you are - get a 95 or 96 SE 5spd one
I think he just wants to get rid of the CEL.
12/96 SE ECU is the SE 1997 one. That's what you want.
But like shogunmax said, if you ever want to get the JWT ECU, you'll want to get 11/95 (1996 Model) - But you'll always have the CEL.
