Hi folks,
I am looking at buying a Maxima.

Can you advise on things to look out for during my inspection.
Will buy at a dealer.

Engines durable?
Electric gremlins?

Currently own a 1999 Passat and need something more affordable.

The engine is very durable. No real electrical problems (its japanese). The body and interior build quality isn't as good as VW though.

 

Check for rear main seal and around timing chain for oil leak.
