New NGK Plugs and a minor tuneup (Long)
New NGK Plugs and a minor tuneup (Long)
Ok i just got all new plugs( i dont think car ever had 60,000 tuneup). NGK Platinums, and a new filter for stock air box, brakes checked( were squealing thought it was wear indicators) and every fluid topped off.
Car drives amazing, Trememdous pickup after 2500 rpms, very clean and smooth startup now ( had stuttering problems in past, car not wanting to start properly). And i swear the engine just pulls harder and smoother!
Going to double check the TB and ensure its clean.
Also going to run some Injector cleaner on next tank(Any reccomendations?)
I cant imagine how much a 5spd pulls if my auto can pull like this.
Summer WSP Y-pipe here i come! Maybe some new suspension too if i can afford it.
So to those with a 95 or 96 check your maintainance history and replace those plugs!

Injector cleaners
I was looking into this not too long ago.
Consensus was the following:
(1) BG 44k injector cleaker ($17-20), somewhat hard to find
(2) Chevron Techron ($6), easy to find
Also, use quality gas and you should not have problems with injectors.

Kick a$$ you guys, thanks for the info/heads up.
I was gonna use OUTLAW fule injector cleaner/treatment.
But if Techron does it for $6 great.
Also i cant shift manually, im an AUTO. And how would that be any better than just WOT while in Park (intelligently of course).
I planned on using 1/2 tank Premium, 1 bottle injector cleaner, and going though revs to redline slowly 2or 3 times and then 1 or 2 times WOT until redline. This is what i did last summer after cleaning throttle body.

They mean shift carefully from L(1) to 2 to Drive(3).
If you had a manual, shifting manually would be the norm.
The reason they are emphasizing "carefully" is because the car will get to redline QUICK when you are romping on it. The first time you slap it on the rev limiter a couple times you will know what I mean.
