Please Help - Need TAO

TAO = Thoughts and opinions...

OK, I'm about to sell my 3rd gen VG for a '97-'99 VQ. I love the body style more than anything and want to eventually put a SC or turbo kit on it. NOW, I know 5 spds are very hard to come by. I've driven sohail's (esfooni23) and I loved it. However, I live right outside Atlanta and traffic is a beyatch. Do you reccomend gettin the 5spd or a/t? I want it to be fast (cough cough Jay25,Bags,Ramius83) and look real stylish (cough cough Max4Speed)

BTW, I've heard that the "Coil Packs" are wacked up in the '99 model, is this accurate?

Any suggestions?

Don't get a 99 if you're into modding. There's quite a few problems with piping and emmissions that make it a PITA to mod. (You have to get different parts and they aren't always easy to find). The SC bracket is different, for example. So if you wanted to buy a used SC, you'd have to find a 1999 one specifically.

I say a 98 5spd SE is what you want.

I think the traffic is only a minor annoyance. It will all be worth it the first time you hit a good straightaway with no traffic.

go for a 97/98 - everything has its drawbacks, if you get the 5spd, you can unleash all the potential of your VQ, but if you get the automatic, you can be lazy and still manage to be fairly quick. if you really want the 5spd, you shouldnt even be thinking about how much of a bish it'll be to drive in traffic.

btw - if you end up with an auto, you can get the torque convertor and a few other goodies to make you keep up with a 5spd(you will lose some upper hand power with a torque converter though =[)
