Symptoms of a bad slave cylinder…..?

I think my clutch slave cylinder is going out. What are the symptoms of a bad slave cylinder? Sometimes when I shift from 3-4 or 4-5 gears, there seems to be a lag when I release the clutch pedal. It’s like if I let go of the clutch, it does not release right away it takes like ˝ a second then it engages. Would that be a bad slave cylinder?

I dont think you would be able to drive it at all really. But your problems sound like it.

There is a hose that leaks on the 5 speeds. located to the left of
the battery in the hole. The connector is known to leak and might be causing you some problems.
If it is leakig let me know I have one brand new

I checked the hose, and the resevoir and it looked fine. No leaks or anything. So I take it I need to replace my slave cylinder?

Thanks

When my slave cylinder went about 1 month ago, it went without warning. If you try to put the car in 1st gear at a complete stop, you have to really jam it into the gearbox, which I would recommend NOT doing. If you really suspect something is up, get it fixed before it cruds the bed so you aren't stuck stranded with a dead slave cylinder like I was.

Your slave cylinder is fine. If it were going bad you'd have a problem when you depressed the clutch pedal to disenguage it.
(It would want to stay enguaged)

Your symptoms are indicating your clutch is starting to slip or not grabbing quick enough. That indicates a worn clutch disk or weak pressure plate.

It's time to replace your clutch. Perhaps you should look into an ACT clutch which will grab much better then your stock setup.

I replaced my clutch about 6k miles ago with a ACT. I was having the same problem with the stock clutch as well.

I went out for a spin today, and I can chirp from 1-2 shift, and from 2-3. So I don't think it's a slipping clutch
