transmission flush?

I have 190 thousand miles on my 96 maxima se. I was wondering if i should flush my transmission or not? I just recnetly added alot of fluild...like 3/4 bottle of it. I never checked the fluid before that and i realized how low it was. Someone told me it would rip up the gears in my transmission if i flushed it? Is this true?

Flush it! The purpose of flushing out your tranny is so that you can get some of those metal shavings out.

If there was any damage done to the tranny it's because you were low on tranny fluid
