I was buffing my car today and I noticed that the door trim was a little loose. Can I go ahead and just remove it? It didn't look like there was anything but tape holding it on. Thanks.

are you talking about the trim that goes lengthwise on the bottom of your doors?

if so, I believe that there are holes behind that trim, so you might not want to remove it.

 

I've heard there are holes behind the trim... but I don't think it is screwed in so yeah you could take it off. Can anyone confirm this?

If you plan to take it off, you should use a heatgun / blowdryer to warm up the trim so the adhesive won't stick so hard to the car.

 

Thats what I was afraid of. I did on my truck and it made it look so much better. The trim on it was just 3M tape, nothin big. Thanks though guys.

there are holes behind it, and unless your gonna fill them up with auto body filler and paint your doors, i suggest not removing the "door trim" which are actually dent guards to prevent your side doors from getting dented say if someone next to you opens their car door into yours
