Help, My check engine light is on with a code 10, 5 means "EGRC Solenoid valve" along with the "knock Sensor" error. What is the "EGRC Solenoid valve", what causes it to have this code on, and how do i repair this error.

What year is your Max....cause if it's a '96, I know there was a recal on the entire EVAP system, which includes all the o2 sensors, plus the solenoid valve, plus some other stuff. Call your local Nissan dealership and have them run your VIN#. If your're part of the recall, then you can get all this stuff fixed for free....saves you over $1000.00

Is the car still running fine? No bad idling or anything?

If so, it sounds like your ERG valve diaphram is stuck.....stick your finger in the EGR and feel if it opens and closes.

 

Where would that be? Do you have a pic or diagram to show me where it is?

 

I have a 96 SE....... When was that Recall for the EVAP system announced? I have a problem with my EVAP Canister Volume Control Valve, and it would be sweet if I could gat it fixed for free......... lol

 

Call the Nissan dealership and have them run the VIN#...the recall was really never anounced.
