Having problems with new rims

i bought rims from a guy they are migle mile 17 X 8 ... they were on an infinity q45 before.. i put them on my car and my car steers differently ... it feels like i need an alignment but i dont know why i would need an alignment because i got one with my stock rims 5 months ago. my friend put the rims on from me and he jacked the car up from the suspension bars ... could that be the reason why my car steers differently.. i just dont want to damage my rims/tires so im concerned and i dont drive my car anymore until i get it fixed...

thanks guys

stock tires are 6.5 inches wide and your new wheels are 8 inches wide, yes you need to get another alignment

Why would you not get your car aligned when you change any IMPORTANT part of your suspension or tires/wheels? 50 bucks to make your bigger bucks last longer is always a good choice. Don't be cheap now, it will just cost you later.

it may be the actual CAMBER that needs to be adjusted, which is usually checked and adjusted when an alignment is done.

Your car is not as picky with the skinnier stock wheels.. your wheels can be positioned like this / \ and it will still ride fine..
but with wider aftermarket wheels with lower profile tires, it will not be as lenient.. and it will feel very weird, pull to the sides, steer very sloppy etc.. so a shop will need to adjust the camber to specs and make it more or less like this ||

this is quite important to do and is more of a precautionary measure because sometimes, it will even ride fine.. but after some time, you will notice very uneven wear on your tires.. either on the inside or on the outside..
so you rather dump 50$ for an alignment now, than 500$ for new tires in 10k miles..

i went to Good Year today and they checked it and they said i needed an alignment, and my front left caliper locked up... so i got the alignment done and i dont wanna spend 250 for the calipers. anyone know where i can get them cheap.. and if its a good idea just to get one used from a junkyard.

thanks
