Hey guys i just bought a 97 maxima GLE that has about 65k miles. I understand that i need to run atleast 91 octane in it, but i live in Ohio and Ohio doesnt have to regulate the octane in the gas just the quantity that is sold in ohio. So there isn't any way for me to be sure that i am buying 91 octane. So i am considering buying 87 octane and then adding some octane boost to it. If you have any suggestions on which octane boost is the best for my Maxima please fill me in. Actually any suggestions on gas and performance inhancements will help this newB. Thanks......

 

Its cheaper to buy 91 octane (even if its not regulated, any brand name station will have 91 octane guaranteed, most likely) than to add octane booster to regular unleaded.

 

I agree with Eric L. I would just go ahead and buy my gas from a name brand station. They most likely wont screw you in that respect.
