Maxima ECU

How much should I expect to pay for an ECU off a used engine that is being parted out? Also, what I want to do is send that ECU to JWT to do the ECU upgrade. So do I have to make sure that the ECU that I get is the same year and trim level as my car, with the same transmission (5-spd) and any other options?

Make sure its a late '95 or '96 (all) ECU, w/ same transmission. Someone had an ECU for sale for $80USD, so I'm guessing around there, altho I'm not sure what the rates are for Waterloo/Kitchener junkyards

There are tons of engines for sale on ebay as a whole or for parts. I might be able to get one for US$50 shipped, but I think it was off an auto... so no go.

Check Car-parts.com you can find one there. You just have to know what dates to get

My car's birthday is 7/94. Does that mean I can get an ECU off another 1995 SE 5-spd that was made in 7/94 and later? I am assuming options don't matter (SEs were all fully loaded anyway in terms of power accessories, etc)

BTW I already checked car-parts.com and there are no ECUs for my car (at least in my province)

If you find one somewhere else I'm sure you can call and have 'em ship it to you. Last week a co-worker of mine was calling around for a grille and asked about shipping - the places he called were more than welcome to ship it.
