ran against CASS98SE last night

at the MN Maxima meet last night, CASS98SE, MayhemI30, and myself cruised aruond. Me an CASS98SE lined up at a stoplight, We stayed pretty even through 1st and 2nd (he was very slowly creeping ahead of me) then at about halfway through third he was a half car in front of me. We are both 5-speeds, both have Budget y-pipes, both had subs in the trunk, both on 17s, and both had a passenger. He is a 98 and I am 99. The only difference was he has a popcharger and I have CAI. Would this attribute why he pulls ahead of me relatively fast. My friend and I also weigh 460 lbs together and I had a full tank of gas. Mayhem I30 did surprisingly well for an auto with 4 people in it. still no match for 5-speed

p.s. - CASS98SE, if youre reading this, Im not trying to make excuses, you won fair and square, just getting some opinions.

Sounds like he just out drove you by a hair. A diff of 1-2 hp won;t matter. COuld be his plugs are cleaner or something as small as that or he is quicker at chifting and better at hitting the shift poins?

cai

a common complaint ive heard of with the cai is the loss of high end gain due to the length of the piping. also since you are a 5-speed is it possible that he shifted faster than you?

-street racing..............shame on you

I agree, and the debate between the two continue!

I would say that the CAI wasn't giving as much flow up top as his popcharger was giving him.
