Could anyone inform me the correct way to remove the corner (clearance) lens on a '99 Maxima. This lens is located next to the headlight. I have tried to remove it as indicated in the owner's manual by removing the phillips screw then prying it away from the fender using a screwdriver wrapped in a rag. For some reason my lenses will not come off easily and I do not want to break them. Thanks for the advice.

I know that maximadriver.com has a mod and how-to section, which explains, in very great detail, the procedure to remove and install corner lens. The site is down for maintenence now but should resume shortly.

Once you remove the top screw and wiggle it out a little, there is a ball and socket joint inbetween the clearance light and the headlight near the bottom...take a flat head and pry the ball joint out of the socket...you don't need to apply a lot of force, once you fit the flat head in there it should just pop out...BE GENTLE...

If your trying to change the bulb, you don't need to take the lense out of the car.

Get your hand down in there and you will feel the bulb socket. There are two wings on it. Turn to the left 1/4 turn and it comes right out. Getting it back in is a bit tricky.

best way to remove tha clearance light is unscrew it. pop it out from tha outer side. then if u get a flashlight look down. there's a grey tab that's holding it in. take a flat head stick it between the grey nub and the black thing that's holding it and twist it. it should pop out. i just did mines.
