Rear Window Molding

When applying wax I got a little bit on the rear window molding. This molding seems very rough. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the wax from the molding. Hope I make myself clear.

Thanks,

I've tried the finger on the rubber part. That comes off okay. The rear window molding has a strip around the glass that feels very rough. Kind of like a fine sand paper
