I did the Home Depot grill for my 95 max. It looked nice, but it took a long time. I also had to redo it. Now that I look back at pictures of it I think it looked ghetto. But thats just me. good luck with it

i made one and....

I didn't have a proper cutting utensil (i used hedgeclippers) or the right size zip ties (big fat juicy ones) so it came out slightly jagged and the ties are visible so it looks very ghetto, but decent from a couple feet away. So, i am going to redo it with the knowledge that i have now, and i'm sure it will look almost perfect. I am going to cut the material with a dremel tool, and i bought 1mm thick zipties. I think it will make a big difference. I'll post pics sometime next week when i get it finished.

good luck with yours, i say go for it, it costs like 5 bucks and if u screw it up who gives a $hi*, just do it again.

speaking of grilles

i have been looking into doing something with my grille. i have a white 97 maxima ..and i thought about buying a used 97 OEM grille off a black max..then i deceided it wouldnt look that good ..so i thought about getting a used 97 OEM chrome grill..and was not sure about that either... i dont really like the trends, or the stillen looking grand am one ..so im stilla t a loss .. there is room for a good aftermarket grille still ...i think the stock grille could look better ...but how ?

I've had several offers to make custom grilles but I currently don't have the time to do them. I could do some down in the near future but everybody would be p*ssed at me for the delay.

I held a grille-making clinic in Toronto last November because I wanted to meet the T.O. Org members and to share the love!

BlackCat and his "patented" bulge design rules!

Some stranger in a parking lot even chased me down wanting to find out how I made it (& I thought he was going to jack my Max!)

IMPORTANT TIP on the 'PO BOY grille project:

Cut cardboard templates to aid fitment so you don't have to get the mesh with it's gnarly edges close to your precious paint!

This will save you from scratching up the paint - trust me I know from experience, as I did the first opening the WRONG way, then switched to cardboard templates: WAAAAAY easier on the paint.

(Sorry, no pics)

Here is mine, we made from expanded metal - available at most steel facilities. It is very inexpensive, about $15 for a 4 x 4 sheet. We cut it out using a air driven cutoff tool, ground the edges, then used a solvent to clean it well, bent it to shape, painted it with a chrome paint and clear coat sealed it.

I have been chased down many times and have sold quite a few to friends.
