In most cases, repair is going to cost alot. I have a AC unit from my 95GLE. If you decide you want to buy a new one, I'll let you get mine for $35 shipped.

kinda related- but I changed out my bose and while I had the console apart, I was approached by a swarm of bugs and had to reconnect the battery to put up my windows with all types of things unplugged...now after numerous attempts to correct, 3 lights on the right side of my auto climate control are out and my ashtray light is out? Also the hazard light is out...but there were more lights out in the beginning and as time goes by (its been about 6 months) more lights come on and have remained on since....should I replace a bulb on an individual piece like the ashtray or duct tape a mag lite to my dash pointed down so when I'm at taco bell I can find the right change

I have a 97 SE and also have a automatic climate control unit. Some of the blubs on the left where out and i replaced them...didnt take more then a hour. I bought the blubs from nissan for about $7 each. There are 5 i think but i only bought 2. I replaced them and it worked like a charm.
Nissan dealers told me it would cost me $200 to replace them...what a ripoff....there are instructions out there...find somoene that can search it for u on the form.

they are regular blubs...very small though. No sodering required...they are screwed in...all u have to do is turn the bulbs with a small screwdriver half a turn and they lift right off...put in new ones and screw in half a turn...they are right behind the climate control unit...you dont even have to take the unit apart or anything...just gotta remove the unit half way from the dash.
