First CustomMaxima Carbon Fiber Hood pics
Here is the first three shots I have of the new hoods Greg at www.CustomMaxima.com has developed and produced.
56k users beware...very large pics.

Mind you it was just waxed and polished and still has residue on it...that will be cleaned off today. As well they come pretapped for washer nozzles...slip yours right in.
the bolts they use slipped right into the stock hinges and used nuts provided by the maker. The latch fits very snugly and hold down tight on the front. I am going to install and they HIGHLY RECOMMEND hood pins. After noting the lightweight and seeing the structure, it is as well as saying mandatory for safety sake.
The weave is very tight and small mesh...I have seen others with larger mesh that is easier to get bunched up and shift on pressure fitting...so the lay on this hood is very good IMHO.
The rubber cushions all 4th gens have on the outer front edges of the stock hood that sort of screw into the radiator support need to be cranked down some as expected to ensure tight closure and as far as clearance, there has been NO issues noted with respect to clearance on the FSTB I have (Courtesy). As well, the clearcoat used is very resilient, much better than the painted surface of my car...(no kidding) and can be waxed /polished up very easily. I am going to tap holes for the stock hood liner since mine is color matched (sort of) and cover the substructure of the CF / Fiberglass supports.
For those interested in ordering, contact Greg or Steve at www.CustomMaxima.com and for general information, they are having CF hood made for 3rd thru 5th gen and even 04 Altimas...not sure on 6th gen or if anyone would even want one on that car.

Of course you can always paint it......
Carbon Fiber is a material, not a color....no matter what any ricer tells you.

Andy, the hood has complete stock shape frame undersupports ...
I can post a pic later.
I don't care if people like it or not...isn't going to change my opinion or my car one bit.

Very well done bro

ok, i need to understand this, whats so good about having the entire car in one color (eg blue, red, white..etc), except for the hood?i mean if it was only a weight issue then how come nobody paints them? is it all about looks? just wanting everyone to notice that you have a CF hood? i hate it when i see these on riced up honda's, and now i see them on the Max, it's plain ugly man....ofcourse as always, this is my personal oppinion.

loss of weight is more like 20+ lbs... stock hood is nearly 50 and CF is just under 20 lbs.
and headrests are getting screens installed...I have been draggin my feet on that item.

looks great, I have been looking to get a cfh since I have some dings on my hood and dent the side of it trying to prop it up and the wind blew it down
. Insted of getting the body work done I might as well get a new hood and loose a few pounds doing it.

I would like to thank you Tracy for your efforts in helping us prototype one of our new products. It took a little longer then we originally anticipated but the extra R&D will ensure no fitment issues in the future.
Oh and by the way, don't worry we won't be selling it at $799, but the current price of $499 is just introductory to get some out there.
Thanks,
Greg, President
