LED Diffuculty need help!
I'm trying to install the led's in my climate control unit and in all of the other areas of the car (aside from the switchs cause i did that already) And, am having some difficultys, for those of you that have done it there before how did you get the leds to stay there there is a different kind of light there not like the switchs in the doors. I need some help or even a link i know there was a link on how to do this but i cant seem to find it anymore any help would be appreciated. Thanks Brian

i did my climate control area, and for that area, I used the base that those little lights used to hold themselves in.
I removed the lights and put the leds in that little base piece.
I then took tiny wire threads and wrapped them around the area where the other lights tiny wires were... i then had one base with one led in it with 2 wires coming up from both sides.
I then took a resistor and attached it to any wire and then you can wire it up to the leds metal prongs.
I then put the led and base into the hole on the circuit board where it was before....
i taped it down cause it wouldn't hold in totally well...

oh scratch that, i put the base in the circuit board first and then pushed the led through from the other side of the circuit board because the led was too big to fit throught the whole when you'd try and reconect the base to the circuit board...

I was lazy actually... for all the other connections, i just spliced the 2 above wires, and ran them to the other leds, which were atached to their respective bases, inside the proper circuit area thingies...

if any of the above was confusing, i can draw out diagrams... hehehe
i have a habit of confusing people.
Re: Re: LED Diffuculty need help!
I understand what you are saying i think it's going to be a pain i can see that right now, man i wish you lived near or i could just send them out and pay you to do it for me that would be nice cause i can see myself screwing this up big time. lol Brian
HELP!!I just did my door switch leds today, i tryed doing my climate control but everylight blulb just burnt out as if there was o much power, any one know what i should do, my light bubls worked perfect on my switches.
Yeah if someone could help cause i did the same thing with mine now none of my lights in the climate control work at all. I thought i put them back in the same way i took them out but i guess i didn't a few of mine were blown to begin with like the one by the fan speed switch so i dont know. ANy help would be appreciated. Brian
ok uhm, you old lights you put in are burnt?
or the leds you tried putting in?
the little lights that were previously in there are 12 volts...
the leds are only 3 volts.
You'd have to put a resistor on the
line and then attach it to the leds
A 470 ohm resistor should do well in this case.
I should have taken pics when i had done my climate control

Actually in the next couple days i'll try removing my climate control and take pics of my install
Like i say, I don't mind doing this for anyone... always fun...
Just my laziness with shipping stuff...
I'll look into the cost of doing it all though...
If I can I'll check into shipping prices too...
So if anyone is interested in having me do it. I'll be able to
lol
Also, I might be trying to change those green leds (when you press a climate control button it lights up green underneath the pressed button...) to blue. I found a led which would fit perfectly in it's place. Just gotta order the leds now.
