H3 Fogs

Me being the retart I am, i bought 100w fog lights awhile back and obviously they burnt out. My question is, would i need like a new harness or something if I wanted to get new bulbs?

Im wondering if itll still work if i install new lights? I ask this because if you do this with the headlights, install too high wattage bulbs, dont you need to get a new harness if they get messed up? do i need anything new with these?

sorry for sounding dumb

one of my headlight bulbs burned out with a higher wattage bulb and i just replaced it. go to pep boys and buy some of the cheap hyperwhite fog lights they have there and see if it still works....you can always return those because the packaging is so easy to open. they shouldn't be able to tell that you opened it.

I had 100 watt piaas. The first just quit. The second exploded in the fixture. I replaced then with 85 watts piaas. They lasted two years until the fogs themselves were destroyed in a construction area. Cr@p!

I think the heat was not being disappated fast enough and the glass melted.

The piaa`s say they are a 55 watt bulb that put`s out 85 watts. Are they safe to use, without ruining the harness or housing?

I picked up a pair of PIAA 55 watt extreme whites. They say they put out the light of a 110 watt bulb, they are bright.

Thats exactly what happens. Anything over 55 Watts will generate to much heat in the small fog light enclosure which will lead to premature failure of the bulb or damage to the housing itself.
