Testing coils
Testing coils
I left my haynes manual at my parents place, and I just finally got a multimeter to test my coils. Can someone tell me what to do and what reading I'm supposed to get if they're good? Thanks

With the wiring harness unplugged, you're checking for continuity between the positive & negative terminals on the coil itself (black & white wires on the harness leading to these two terminals), I think it was the two outside terminals of the three, if I remember correctly.
Set your DMM to the Ohms scale.
A LOW # indicates GOOD continuity = coil is in good shape
A HIGH # indicates POOR continuity = coil is not functioning properly
You can test all the coils easily this way and if there's a bad one in the bunch, the different reading on your DMM will be obvious.
