1995 engine interchangeability

hi all, I was wondering if you guys could tell what year maxima engines would be a direct bolt in for a 1995 model? '96-'99? I tried the search function but it would not let me access that page even though I was already logged in. any help would be greatly appreciated!

they all should work (95-99)...i do know however, their are a FEW (cant think of them) differences ive observed between my 99SE, and my friends 96SE...again...their small, and i highly doubt they would affect anything...someone correct me if im wrong..

Are you planning on getting another motor?

I have a 98 motor in my 95 max, the 95 motor had severe problems. Only two major things I noticed
1) OBD1 on 95, OBD2 on 96+
2) For some reason they used my old upper intake on the new engine.

thanks guys, I'm actually asking this for a friend. he has a '95 model that is need of a new motor. I'm guessing his obd1 would still work on the later model motor? sounds like a pretty straight forward swap other than that and the manifold.

I found it at a Ford dealership
I don't know how my car was OBD1, but it was.

I thought that all 1995 Maximas are ODBI. How do you know that yours is ODBII?
