just installed y-pipe. CEL 9,1 pulled.

Diagnostic chart says front right 02 sensor heater. Anyone have any idea why that would happen?
Thanks for any help.

Did you reinstall it? Is it in tight? Did u accidently apply anti-seize to it? Did u damage it by any chance?

Did you turn on the car before the sensors were put back in? Try reseting the ECU and see if it comes back, shouldn't take long if it does come back.

thanks for replying. I had someone install it for me. I believe they did use some anti seize on the sensors. I reset the ecu, but light came right back on. I do not hwar any strange noise, i.e no leaks, etc. it is actually very quiet.
thanks again for any insight.

Shouldn't really use anti-seize on O2 sensors...Try taking it out, and cleaning off all the anti-seize, and see what happens.

Depending how they removed the O2 sensors, there's a chance that they twisted the wires too much and may have broken one of the leads. First try cleaning the sensor, but also look and see if the wires are frayed at all.

I applied anti-sieze to the threads of the O2 sensors when I did my y-pipe, and havn't had any problems. I also removed the sensors completely from the vehicle still installed in the old y-pipe, and then swapped them out in the garage. The only thing that really damages oxygen sensors is silicone...if your anti-sieze is silicone based (it shouldn't be) than you better start shopping for new sensors.

if the SES light comes right back on, its prolly a wire problem.

Thanks for the additional input guys. I'll be bringing it to my installer later on tonight to have it checked.
