where to get a 5 speed tranny?

where to get a 5 speed tranny?

im looking for a 5 speed tranny for my 96 I 30. i need one with the updated bearings.i tried car-parts.com but nothing near me since i live in ny.i dont know whethet to get a locking or non locking differantial tranny.what else do i need if i replace the tranny? any help would be greatly appreciated. thx

hmm i dunno about updated bearings...

but I too would like to know any online places or something that sell transmissions with warranty. I heard phoenix transmissions does... i can't find contact info for them though. Can anyone suggest some more?? thanks

i dont know about you ,but i dont want to buy another tranny and have the same differantial bearing problem again.people cant be that stupid not to replace a rebuilt tranny with the updated bearings ... right ??

a rebuilt transmission costs alot more. It isn't the bearings that have a problem... it was the preload that had been set too tight.

I am just looking for a replacement tranny off a wrecked maxima... but comes with warranty.

so how do you fix the problem without gettin a new one thats gonna have the same problem.i thought the bearings were to big and over time started to grind down and cause there to be metal shavings in my gear fluid then cause the drive axel to leak.
