hey guys:

i think the time has come for me to sell my car. i have only had it for about 5 months, but i really really want a 5spd, and i don't want to do a conversion. so now i am doing a car shop, and i think i am going to buy a 2000 maxima. then i will not have to get a mevi. but on the down side they cost alittle more, and i will be leaving the 4gen fourms. but i want to know how much you think i could get for my car... the dealer offered me $7,500, and then i got up and left. i went to kellys blue book and looked up my car and it says i can get $14,000 for it. i think it is alittle high. so i bring the question to you guys.. how much? below is a list of every option.

98 GLE maxima : 64,000 miles : black exterior

moonroof
abs
heated seats/mirrors
climate control
dual powered seats
front and rear airbags
GREY leather interior
bose stereo

also i have some after market items invested as well:

frankencar intake
kyb/agx struts
H&R springs
clear corners
17 inch rims
$250 tires on each front wheel 98% tread left
$180 tires on each rear wheel 96% tread left
$500 remote start/ 2 way alarm : (pages you when your alarm goes off, and the lcd on the remote shows where the intrusion took place.)

so thats everything. i really do not want to de-mod my suspension... it was a pain enough putting it on, but i just kept on think about the end result. taking it off, have have nothing to look forward to when it is finished.

but i do have to add that on the passenger side door someone opened there door into mine and the pain chipped off... but there is no dent. and thats about it.. what should i expect to get for it? and does anyone want my car? it is in perfect condition and it is hardly ever beaten on... i've calmed down after my last maxima.

NE way, I think you should return the car to stock, (because no one is gonna be interested in the fact that its modded, unless they are into that stuff...the average person, is NOT) and either keep the performance items or sell them separately.

Once the car is stock I would say you could easily get like 11k for it, providing its in good shape!
(if you try to sell it on the org, you would be luck to have someone offer you 9, we're all cheap bastards!)

My advice to you would be to post it on auto trader for like 11 or so, and see if you get some bites! GOOD LUCK! keep us posted!

and btw, you could get a used 4th gen with similar options and a 5spd for like 9000...i got my car with 68k on it, its black with everything but heated seats, bose and auto climate. Its a 5 spd and a 97, and i paid 9k for it...
SO, you could sell your car for 11k, buy a used 4th gen for like 9k, and then put you mods on THAT car, and then mod it further with the left over money! YAY!

When you looked your car up on Kelley Blue Book, did you look up the Trade in Value or the Private party value? or both?

black on black, 98 GLE aka fully loaded, sounds good, mileage is good and u got some mods, the main thing killing you is that people can get a 5th gen for less than 14,000, let along a 98 GLE. Honestly if it were me and i wanted to go back to AUTO, i would say 10,000 is a JUST price considering the aftermarket stuff u have, especially that alarm.

10,000 a nice price

8,000-9,000 a sweet *** price

11,000-12,000 ehh, i wont cry but i wont jump out with joy

14,000, i'll hunt you down and take your family for beating me for my cash!

but i'm not a GLE fan anymore, maybe someone into luxury will see better value in your car....

98 max with more mileage, less features and no mods, your car is worth over 11 grand, i personally just dont see the value cause i'm a 5 speed fan

Mods dont mean anything in this case. The car is setup for you. You picked the mods. I think the car would be worth more stock. Thats just my opinion. I bought my 99 maxima 8 months ago and I wouldnt touch one with mods cause it prolly meant it was beaten. Its just my $.02

its all about finding the right buyer. if you find the right moron, i mean buyer, he'll pay what ever you ask.

take me for example, i just sold my 95 black on black leather SE auto with a Pioneer P740MP, 2 RF XLC 12"s, Kenwood Amp, 18" rims with 80% tires, intrax springs, clear corners, hybrid intake, tint, and a $1K alarm with remote start for $11K.
