I heard a lot of fuss about the Budget Y-Pipe selling for $180 (including shipping, I believe, as some have mentioned). I went to the Budget site and it says $250. Where did you guys get yours?

Also, I noticed they have two of them. One is a "T-304 Stainless Steel, Mandrel Bent F-pipe" and the other a "4th Gen Maxima California Spec T-304 Mandrel bent F-Pipe" for the same price. What's the difference?

first one is Fed spec
second one is cali spec

where are you located? chances are you have a fed spec pipe unless you're in cali, or your car came from cali.

here's how to check...
pop the hood and look at the engine bay in front of the valve cover (where it says nissan v6 3000)
if there are 4 sensors, its a cali spec
if there are 2 sensors, its a fed spec

cali spec have funky shaped ypipes...you can also jack up the car and look.

OK, so for instance, here's a pic of the engine bay (http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...58_21_full.jpg)....... is it cali or fed?

here's what you do... you read thru the post labeled "important: 4th gen faq. please read me" at the top of the page.. read all the posts, and you'll find multiple ones on how to tell fed or cali spec.. and you'll learn tons so you won't have to ask these questions anymore .. reading is good..

Is my car Cali or Fed spec?
Raise your hood. Look for a shiny metal identification tag fastened to the passenger side of firewall. The top row is the Vehicle Identification Number, starting with J. The second row is model information. The first five characters are BLHUL. The 12th character is the destination:

N = Canada
V = California
U = US, not California
