Need help with hi end/low end information guys...

I wanted to know what mods are for High end power? And is a y-pipe for low or high end? I have an automatic transmission, and my driving style is street.

Sorry but I'm just a bit confused.

in other words
CAI = hi or low?
Y-pipe = hi or low?
Mevi =?
Intake = ?
and other mods?

CAI = mid- to high-end, no low end loss
Y-pipe = Gains everywhere, but especially mid- to high-end
MEVI = High end only, slight loss in midrange
Intake = Gains everywhere but some claim a slight low-end loss
Underdrive crank pulley (UDP) = Gains everywhere (slight)
Cat-back exhaust = Gains mid- to high-end (slight)

as for intake, get a cai with your auto. for us a hai, hot air intake, will give our autos some lag off the line. i have a place racing cai but right now it is set up as a hai because i need a saw. im more of the stoplight bandit driver myself so i dont really ever run the 1/4 mile and benifit more from the greater low end torque.

if your going to mod your car just start by getting the budget y pipe, youll never regret it.

good luck

will adding a midpipe to a stillen intake improve the low end, or will it just add to mid and high end power?

I also want to know how much of an improvement the midpipe adds to low end. I have stillen intake currently and I feel the loss in power when I get on it. It feels like the intake didn't help much and made this slower!

i dont think that the stillen made my car slower, i can definatly feel more power, but it doesnt really effect the low end. but if anyone could respond who added a midpipe to thier stillen or JWT pop charger, let us know how the midpipe effects the powerband.

I've had the stillen and now I have an apexi with midpipe. The stillen's low end loss is not as bad as everyone thinks it is! Check your fuel filter, spark plugs ect. guys! The midpipe is overrated, but its just good to have. I personally didn't like the resonator box and the according section that probably created turbulance in the intake manifold or restriction...that's why I bought it. The midpipe is something good to have. People with the stillen, make sure you keed the bottom portion of the stock intake box, it draws cold air into the engine bay.

I have a Weapon R intake. I chose it because it gives you a little bit more power on the top end versus the cold air intake. The engine can't breathe as well in the upper rpm's with the cold air intake because of it's length. Where as the shorter style intakes breathes alot better in the top end. There was a guy who did a test on the .Org a while back using a temperature guage by his intake. He tested a cold air intake and shorter style intake and once the car was moving the temperatures were exactly the same. So, I picked the Weapon R since it had more power up top. Yes, it is pretty loud under wide open throttle. The first time I floored it I couldn't stop smiling. I loved it! Get an intake, I'm sure you will too. Later.
