KS good, but still 0403 code!?

I replaced the KS, but it turned out the one I replaced wasn't bad. Anywho, I've gotten another KS after that and verified both KS by testing it with a multimeter. It is within spec, so I know for sure that the KS is good. But the ECU still shows a 0403 code. I've reset the ECU many times, basically i've been running the car with the 0403 code for a couple months now.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I have no other codes. With the 0403 code, I can feel the car lagging a tiny bit.

Could very well be your O2 Sensors throwing a ghost code, I've heard don't know the exact details but its the right track.

Did you mean 03 04 (ie. KS)?

Yep, 0304......i always get the order mixed.

HarrisH, but if it was an O2 sensor, would the ECU give me another code indicating that it was another sensor?

Nope, not harness either. I replaced that with another. Maybe it could be the front O2 sensor. But wouldn't u get some sort of code to indicate an O2 sensor? Thats what baffles me.

97blackv1, what did your front o2 sensor look like, ie. condition. How does a warn/used o2 sensor look?

I heard that you can clean the O2 sensors with brake cleaner, so we tried it with my friends max and it actually runs better. As for your delema i dunno maybe you got a defective one? Even though your other one was in range I hear of people having ones work intermediatly.

I installed it and i ran great until today(sunday...)
I guess i jumped the gun because i was so happy.

Hmm, it didn't throw an o2 sensor code b4, but it did AFTER u used brake cleaner......thats interesting.

I also read somewhere that it could be a broken wire somewhere between the kS and the ECU......u have to check for continuity. Therhe is a bend somewhere in the engine bay where all the wires run and eventually head to the ECU.....it could also be that.

If i hooked up to an OBDII scanner, would it tell me the exact problem? Anyone know?
