Well I don't have 19's but I am also in the same position as you. I have research a lot, since I want some big wheels but I don't want my car to ride like if I had no suspension. I was considering 18's but 19's just look better. N e the recommended size tires depends on the size of the rims you want. I am getting 19x8 the recommended size is 235/35/19 I am thinking ok getting 245/35/19 so that I can get a tire just a little bigger. That may help keep the side smooth. But I am still deciding on the tires. I may end up buying 235/35/19 cuz they are cheaper.
For springs. with out doubt I am going to buy H&R. H&R springs are the closest ones to the stock SE spring and they will only lower the car 1.3-1.5". That will look perfect with 19's
For struts I will probably buy Tokico llumina. My friend has those and they really perform better that KYB AGX. KYB AGX are also great and cheaper but I want a softer ride so Tokico llumina will do for me.
I hope this may give you some ideas on what to get. If you want 19's and don't wanna lose the comfort of your car you may go with these. I have been researching about all these for like 6 months and next month I will finally have 19's.

19" rims

get 245/35/19 for 19x8 or 19x8.5
go with 8.5 and 245/35 for best looks and ride. remember, more rubber and wider is better! ask any girl!

the road noise will increase on 19 and you will feel it but it's not bad. same as 18 or 17" just looks a whole lot better! and bling bling rims are the best!

Progress/AGX w/ 19x8.5 ADRs wrapped in 235/35 (sig pic). I also recommend the 245/35s. I chose the 235/35 to stay truer to speed.

245/35/20. 255's would have been a tight squeeze.

Well I previously had intrax springs which were a lot harsher than the progress. I also had 17s so comparing the two setups I think the progress/agx is a lot better. It's not as harsh but also not as low.

Not to sound like a noob or anything, but what does the first number in each tire size mean? (235, 215, 245)

You sound like a noob Anyway, those numbers stand for wheel width in mm I believe

So if that's the case, my stock SE rim width is 8.5 inches?

Almost right, the width is the tire width in mm, the wheel is different and is usually measured in inches
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/general/size.htm

For example, my setup

18x7.5 225/40/18

Rim: 18 inch diameter rim, 7.5 inches wide
Tire: 225 mm overall width, section height is 40% of 225, and fits on an 18 inch diameter rim

Stock SE rims are 16x6.5 I believe

Also, a long discussion on lowering and stiffness:

I think if ya check up on it, 245/35-19 is closer to the stock diameter

I went with 245/35-19s ride isnt like stock no doubt haha

I do have rubbing problems because I had to run spacers to clear my BBs- try to stay with an offset 38-45mm andhopefully you wont have rubbing problems

my problem is also the S-02 tires- they are the widest 245s you'll run into because of their rim protector bar and super wide shoulder

ooops, my fault. i have H&R's (springs) and KYB AGX's (struts). unless you have a spring compressor conveniently lying around in your garage then you need to take it somewhere to get your suspension pieces installed.

I have 17's and after installing my KYB/AGX's and H&R's I think my ride is kind of stiff now. I have tried different settings but the one that works for me as far a comfort is 1 in front and 2 in back, and it is still pretty stiff. The AGX's feel a tad smoother now after having them in for a few weeks, my kids also agree, but maybe this is due to us getting used to it. I will try motivational mounts later to make it a little less harsh for the little ones.

I will hopefully be getting 19s within a month or two. I would really like to get 255, but would there be any rubbing? Also, I've heard that the lower the aspect ratio the worse the ride, and more likely to bend the wheel. I would like to get 255/30, but would the ride be really bad, and would the wheel get bent over a small bump? If I were to get 255 how wide would the wheel width have to be? How much of a drop should I get front/back that would still have decent clearence? I would like to get a Stillen kit later on once I get more money. Thanks for everyones help.

I don't think motivational mounts will help unless your car is bouncing on the rear bumpstops. Generally mine only did that with people in the back and shock settings that weren't stiff enough.

Also, it's hard lowering a car without having a stiff ride. If the ride wasn't stiff, you suspension would absorb the bump and your car's underside would slam into the concrete. I'd actually say to turn up your shocks, another guy with H&Rs said his optimum settings were near full stiff. Leaving your shocks on a low setting is like riding around with blown shocks, they won't do much damping, and the ride will be bouncy.

Thanks for the info, I will try the higher settings in the back later today.

It all depends on your offset and width.

Any offset between 35-40mm should be fine. Try to stick with 235, 245 or 255mm width tire. I have 19x8.5s and i'm running 235s. I'm sure you can get away with 245 on a 8.5" wheel but not so sure about 255. So if I were you stick with the 245.

Additional info on wheel offsets:

has any-one tried a 255/35/19 on the rear of the max?

i saw it on a max in a mall parking lot the guy wasn't around for me to ask him what was his offset.

i even checked the front tire and he had 225/35/19

the car looked really good and the rear tire looked very wide.

255/30/19. Will there be any rubbing with 255 width. Will the ride be bad, or will there be a much greater chance of bending the wheel with 30, then 35?
Thanks.

You should be fine as long as you stick to an offset clse to 35mm.

20's should fit no problem (hopefully) with stock struts and springs. the ride is going to be less harsh than mine since my car is lowered, but it's still going to be bumpy. the only thing i would recommend if you get them is to watch out for rough bumps at high speeds. besides that you should have no problems whatsoever truthfully, the ride isn't bad at all, and if it is odd at first you will get used to it very quickly. although, if you're gonna get 20's you might want to look into a slight drop. i have H&R's and KYB AGX's. you will most likely have to get the lip under your back fenders rolled up, but it's worth it in my opinion! if you have any other questions feel free to pm me. good luck
