I just wrapped my max around a tree!!!

last night at 9:30 P.M. I was driving down my road and going around a curve, when suddenly my car started slipping. I hopped the curb and went head-on into a tree. Both airbags deployed and I was wearing my seatbelt so all i got were a couple of bruises. But i was scared SH!TLESS!!! Apparently i slid on the sand that they throw down during the winter on the roads, that piles up when the snow melts. I'm glad nobody was hurt, but my max was totalled im sure. Im just glad i was going the speed limit(30 mph). The cop was especially nice about it and I thanked him for being so nice to me, considering i left the scene to call my parents. Apparently thats illegal so i won't do that again. Well, anyways, i am pretty sure i will be parting it out soon, i just have to wait for the insurance report to be processed. It was a 5-speed 1995 emerald green nissan maxima, so look for parts for sale coming up soon.

Sorry to hear about your accident... that really blows. I hate that they (the city) take so long to get rid of all the crap they throw down during the winter.

That said... what color was your interior?

Slid, hopped a curb and slammed into a tree hard enough to total the car.... from 30mph? Hmmmm.... Be thankful the cop didn't want to screw you... He did you a favor...

But, you had insurance, were wearing your seatbelt, and weren't drunk... So he cut you some slack. I wish the cops around here were like that...

I'm really glad that you walked away and nobody else got hurt but I'm with RMB on this one. You lost me with the hopping the curb and slamming into the tree thing at 30 MPH. This happened doing 30?

yeah that's what the speedo said last time i looked before going into the tree, the car is not totaled ridiculously, but the frame is real messed up because it was a head-on collision with the tree on the driver's front side. but i was actually going 30.

popping the bags in a '95 will pretty much total it. if you slkid at 30m's then you need to be suing the city for dumping the sand and making the road dangerous...

Keep in mind the city will bring in people to inspect the damages on the car. They can re-create the scene and determine if he was speeding or not, especially by looking at the damages on the car. So even if he was going ~31mph then his lawsuit would be useless becuase he was technically "speeding".
