weekend post - a night of Touring
What a good night it was. I cleaned my Air Conditioner with the Lysol spray and i took a nice drive down the highway with my heater on maximum blast to get wrid of that smell. the weather was nice circa 58 degrees, and everthing was going well. Then i decided to open her up a little bit.
So there i am driving somewhere around 75 and some guy on a riced out civic pulls right alongside me, motioning me to go for it. judging by the size of his wing i'd say he was a cross between poser rice and super rice, so i nodded to him and we took off. too bad i didn't see the look on his face, but i left him well behind, he didn't even know what hit him. after i lost him in my rearview mirror i went back to my moderate 75.
A few minutes later some old guy on an S4 decided to rudely cut me off bareling down belt parkway at 85. so i took off after him, waiting for the lysol smell to evaporate. we had a nice run he, unlike the civic poser actually knew how to drive, we took it pretty fast to about 100-105, his wife sitting next to him starred out the window at me looking like she was going to have a heart attack. then after about 5 minutes of rapid lane changing he went for the exit, and that was the end of that run.
with the lysol smell almost gone i encountered a white maxima 95-96 having a nice race with a circa 85 Oldsmobile 442 so i decided to join in. just as i moved closer to the olds, i saw a huge cloud of smoke and a big piece of rubbewr fly off the guy's tire right unto the pavement in front of me, the guy immediately lowered his speed and pulled over, i decided that was enough for one day. i took the next exit and turned around going the other way back home.
But the night had more in store for me. Driving back i matched my speed with a nice looking BMW 740IL as soon as i tried to pass him the driver reacted starting to pull up on me, so i gave my max more gas and next thing i know we're going at it at 90+. It was a good race too the guy had a radar detector and we were at it for about 15 minutes, the bmw handles pretty nice, but i got to know how great my FSTB really is, the handling at 90+ is short of superb the car listens to the slightest move of the steering wheel, a good mod so if you don't have it yet go out and buy one! you won't regret it!
Just as i was getting closer to Brooklyn with the Lysol smell gone, some numbskull in a 94? 626 decided to take me. I had a good laugh at him, he looked like he was giving it all he had, but i easily pulled up on him, in fact i made a complete circle around his car, and waved him a nice goodbye, and then showed him why a maxima is so much superior to his car. And that was it for this fun Touring championship of the night.
Moral Of the Post: Take care of your max and it will take care of you.
Tomorrow (today) i'm going to replace my fuel filter with a 300zx unit as well as the PCV Valve and i'm going to paint my calipers red.
My beautiful beast deserves it.
