rusted rotors?
i brought my max into my mechanic the other day to get an oil leak fixed and asked him why my car might be making a loud vibration noise around 50 mph. he checked out my car and said it was becasue my rotors are rusted. so does this mean that there is nothing i can do about it? it doesnt do it all the time but is very annoying and sounds like ****.

Re: rusted rotors?
Do a few 70-20 stops. Keep the brake pedal firm while doing these stops. Don't lock up the wheels though. That will burn off the rust.

i think a better way would be just to take off your wheels and get some med. grit (300) sandpaper to take off the rust and glaze. and you might want to do the same to your pads too. i try to do this once and a while and it makes a nice improvement. and while you've got your wheel off, use some brake cleaner to get all the crap out of your brake assembly.

I can think of one reason you don't want to take sandpaper to your rotors and pads. You mess up the bedding between the two. You may end up with loud scraping sounds when braking.
