leaky strut=failed inspection

I have a leaky left rear strut which is moist, telling me by several mechanics that it needs to be replaced. In PA will that fail inspection? Mine is coming up in July.

Yes for that you will fail inspection. Just get it replaced don't try to hide it from the mechanic.

Look at it as a good excuse to get your suspension re-done.

I think I am going to bite the bullet and shell out money for some new struts since the car is getting torn up in potholes here in erie,pa.

It's a '95 gle 80k so it has soft suspension. Not going exotic, what does everyone think of monroe sensa-trac struts ? Are they good overall good soft ride performers?
