Do ABS come standard?

I have a 99 maxima se, i was driving on a rainy day about to pass a stop light when it turned yellow. I thought I could make it but then again decided to stop, I was going a little fast therefore I had to push my brakes a little harder than usual. All of a sudden my wheels locked up and skidded a little bit. I let go of my brakes and ran the red. I tested them out later and same thing happened. I guess I don't have ABS, or mine is not workign properly? What do you guys think?

you might not have abs i also have a 99 se, only i found out when a saturn pulled out in front of me(i hit it). im used to not having them(my old 90 didnt) but i too thought such a new car would come standard with abs. Oh well its more fun without them.

you can check when you turn your car on, look to see if an abs light comes on for a second with all the other lights in the dash. also i believe you can look in the fuse box in the engine bay to see if there is a fuse in the abs slot.

you can slide the car like crazy, although i dont recommend doing it too often, rather hard on the car

but

if you find one of those newly paved parking lots with the black asphalt, you can spin the car around pretty good.
