put stock springs back on
Today I took off the Eibach springs and put back the stock springs back on. I can't handle the stiff ride anymore. I also put the stock front struts(from a friend's I30)back on. I still have the rear AGXs though. The ride is much smoother, but of course the dreaded wheel gap is back. It's ok though because it's not that bad with the stock sawblades on. I know I will need an alignment. Could I get an alignment right away? I asked this because I know if I put aftermarket springs on, I have to wait two weeks for them to settle a bit before an alignment.
EDIT: I thought the front driver side AGX strut was blown, but I just tested it by pushing down on it and it came back up. So I guess it's not blown. Hm...now I think it has to be the strut bearings. I don't hear any noise anymore. When I still had the Eibach and front AGXs on, I would hear a weird popping kind of sound when I turn the wheel. Now I don't hear it anymore.

You can get one right away, the reason people say to wait 2 weeks is so that the problems will be exaggerated. But if you have a good alignment shop they will be able to catch any problems now.
BTW, it's becoming obvious that you are old now.

Get the new AGX's in up front first! Otherwise your going to align it twice. Once now and once when the new AGXs go in.
BTW - Stock SE springs + AGX = Awsome ride!

Vyrus: old now? I been old for quite sometime.
njmaxseltd: I just took out the front AGXs that I had on. I thought the driver side was blown, but I guess after I tested it, it wasn't blown after all. I'm going to just stick with the stock struts. If I get an alignment now and put in stock struts back on the rear at a later time, I don't need to do another alignment right?

And if you put the rear stock struts back on later you shouldn't need an alignment, but there is always the chance that you will.

If you wanna sell them, how much, what kind of condition are they in, and how long ago did you get them?
Thanks

Yes, I'm going to sell the Eibachs. Stay tuned for a thread in the 4th gen classified.

Does anyone know for sure if the front AGXs are fine? Since I tested them by pressing down on them and they came back up. Does this mean they are fine? If that's the case, I might just put them back on and see how they ride with the stock SE springs. Tks.

They should be nice and firm to push down and come back up nice and slow. I'm sure there good, toss them on with the stock springs. The ride is totally awsome.

Yup, that's how they are. Guess they are still good, so I guess I'm going to keep them.

I changed my mind about keeping the stock springs on. I decided to get a set of H&R springs and combine them with the AGXs that I have now. I almost forgot that my sister is going to give me her set of 17" Tantrums from her '00 Accord V6. So if I slap the Tantrums with the stock springs, it would look even more hideous than it does now with the sawblades.
Btw, yes I do tend to change my mind.

I guess you are trying to say the H&R doesn't handle as well as the Eibach? I don't really care for handling to be honest. I usually take corners real slow anyway.

oooooooooooohhhhhhhh.. you are on H&R's.. i thought youwere on stock springs

H&R's on AGX's are going to be harsher than Eibachs and AGX's..
from what i have learned from the Suspension Master Tom.. H&R's are better suited with a Strut/Shock of Tokico Blues..
Hope the H&R's and AGX's work out for you though.
i think its.. Soft Spring goes with Soft Strut/Shock. Stiff Strut goes with Stiff Strut/Shock.. so:
H&R's goes with Tockico and Eibach's go with AGX's.
I had the H&R's and Tockico combination and the ride was PERFECT.

I'm having second thoughts on the H&R springs idea. I just checked out this thread and the news isn't too good: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=199714
Crap...I'm not sure what to do.

Spring - H&R
Strut (front) - Tokico blue
Shock (back) - Illumina's (adjustible, not too expensive) or GR2's
Rear Strut Mount's - Motivational (comfortable)
...this is what my research has brought me for a comfortable, lowered, lil sporty (if you want it)...ride

Well, I just put the front AGX struts back on. I still have the stock springs on though. I think I'm going to just leave it as that. The ride is very good. Btw, I have the front and rear at 1. Going to get an alignment tomorrow.

Big difference! There's no comparison IMO. The ride is still pretty smooth almost like with the stock struts. Also, the handling seem to be better than with the stock struts. njmaxseltd is right, this setup is great. Sure, there's the hideous wheel gap, but that's the price to pay for a great ride. Also like I said before, with the stock sawblades, the wheel gap isn't that bad.

Mine is a '96. The Eibachs that I have are the newest one. I only had them on for about 2 months. I bought them new from Tirerack.com
I'm definitely going to sell the Eibachs, just need to find a box for them first.

H&Rs with all Tokico Blues would not be good because (the rear would be too bouncy/uncontrolled?).
H&Rs with all KYB GR2s would not be good because (the front would be too stiff?).

Dial in 2 up front & 3 in the rear and take it for a spin.
