Plugs

I have a '96 SE, and the dealership wants $180 for a plug change. How much is a set of 6 platinum plugs? This sounds excessive.

I've seen them sell for about $38 for a set of six on ebay for NGK platinum plugs.

You can also use the NGK copper plugs which run about $1.60/ea. at Advance Auto.

Advance Auto has Laser Platinums for about $9.50
O'Rielly has then for about $9.85

Takes about 45 minutes to an hour if it is your first time. You can save yourself $120 to $140 by doing them yourself.

I changed my plugs for $8.40. Use coppers, the only difference with coppers and plats is the plats last 60k vs 30k and the coppers produce a better spark than the plats.

I read sprintmax's article and it says line up coil packs so you dont mix them up. Arn't the rear three the same so it should not matter if they get mixed up,correct?

I've got 6 for sale that have maybe 5-600 miles on them (NGK PLATS), they're yours for 30 + shipping.

just do them one at a time so you dont have to worry about mixing them up. its my understanding that you cant mix them up. they have to fire in the right order. not sure though, not used to having coils

I never understood the purpose of taking them all out at once in the first place. I alway do them one at a time.

Remember that's in Canadian dollars, it works out to $15 USD. Still a lot of money. I was unsure what else I could use. NGK is the plug of choice.
