Can maxspeed springs like the ones you can find for sale on ebay be used with stock struts? Is there anything else that is need to have these maxspeed springs installed on a 96 maxima?

Yes... This will shorten the life of the stock struts and as well your ride may become very bouncy/crappy, but it will work... For how long you never know, but i'm guessing the shocks might last quite a bit longer since Maxspeeds don't drop you all that much... If it was me, i'd wait until i have the shocks as well, but whatever floats your boat

Yes, it's very possible. In fact many people do this cause they don't wanna spend the extra $$$ for new shocks that can handle the stiffer and lower springs. Your stock shocks will eventually wear out and break if you keep them on with lowering springs.

To lower your car correctly, you should get springs, shocks, new OEM strut mounts, and new OEM dust boots.

damnit that sucks. I am gonna get a bumpy ride with them? I was under the impression that maxspeeds have a smoother ride then something like eibachs or sprint springs.

you have to compare springs using the same struts. when people say that your ride will be bad, its because of your struts

basic scientific method
