worn out Springs and Struts

What are some symptoms of worn out STOCK Springs and Struts on the Maxima?

I have a 98 SE.

I dont think the springs will wear out. If the struts are blown then the car will bounce on every bump as if your on a boat. Try pushing the bumper down and shake the car then see how many times the car bounces before it stops. shouldnt bounce more than a couple

What would cause a klunking sound when hitting a bump? BTW, brand new springs and struts.
