FIXED Rough Idle and Stalling ..finally

Ok ive had that rough start idle problem for like 9 months now. And I replaced almost everything i could and tested all the sensors , Yet not a thing changed.

well today, things have changed. First i Removed the Entire Intake Manifold, Yes i mean the Whole Top Of the Engine where the Manifold goes in. Used 4 Cans of STP Throttle-Body Cleaner. Little tooth brush action. Installed. And WOW!.. Good god

Throttle Response is so so good. I mean so good. I can easily lay the tires down anytime now, Im Auto too. I Would Seriously RECOMMEND this to anyone, Anyone, Im 22 yrs old with little expierence , I used the Haynes manual To See the Picture of Arrows and started goin to town..
It looks like alot of work but really it wasnt that bad.
Took 1 hour to get off, 1 1/2 hours to put back and dbl. dbl check everything.

Thanks to njmaxseltd for all the help and the rest of you who replyed to my 10 rough idle posts.

I Have 134,000 miles

Most crap was where the other fast idle sensors connected to it,(hence the idle prob) after you remove that take the little crest toothbrush and run Softly, not hard or it removes the factory film protectant.

this is the best thing ive ever done to my car..

I also adjusted that grey plastic bolt on all those sensors, i believe it was the fast idle adj. but i just did it when it was started and it brought up the rpms a little more.

You can do this with out the haynes manual. seriously i only looked at it for a second and was like , what? , haynes manual tells you to go to chapter 4 then chaper5 for the tps sensors, then chapter 9 for this and that.

get some rachets and go at it! i have good faith in all of you.
Tip: whenever you remove a screw or bolt off the manifold, just put the screws back into the whole so you dont have to figure out what goes where...
I can give you a check list meccanoble if you want for things to make sure you remove. let me know.

you need a 10 mm socket shallow and deep, 12mm socket shallow, socket wrench, extension, pliers, and phillips screw driver. I believe thats it. I installed my MEVI without instructions in 1.5 hours.

im not sure at all about rachet sizes at all.

i will say that theres 2 bolts on the rear, cant see , only feelable.
theres 2 hoses thats holding it on that a tough to connect back, and a few others. its really quite simple if you get a rachet set and a pair of needle nose.

Yep. id actually use 10 cans if i would have bought em' . the more the merryier

Gaskets?

How many gaskets did you have to replace? I just know about the throtle body gasket that I changed when I cleaned the throtle body.

Good job, looked like a fairly big task.

Found this online, if anyone wants to know what it entails. Link
