After VI install, fluctuating RPMs when coasting down a hill. What is the problem?

I swapped in a VI a few week ago. Ever since then, whenever I'm coasting down a hill with my foot off the accelerator (I always put the tranny in 2nd or O/D off for engine braking), the RPMs will intermittently fluctuate up and down (~500 rpms or so) . What could be the problem?

Why are you F-in with an automatic tranny? At what RPM are you coating down this hill? Maybe the tranny wants to be in third? O/D is fourth not third.

I don't think it's the fuel pump. I've had my Walbro installed for only about a year. Plus, this problem began right after the VI installation. The problem will only occur when I'm coasting down a hill while engine braking.

Thanks for your suggestion nevertheless. =)

This is the long hill that I take EVERY SINGLE DAY back to my house. It's about half a mile long. I ALWAYS put the tranny in 2nd and just coast down the hill w/my foot off the gas.

I noticed the same thing happened when I was coasting down another hill with O/D off (3rd gear) the other day.
