99 Max GXE- HORRIBLE GAS MILEAGE! HELP

I'll tell you what I have checked:

Cleaned throttle body
new air filter
oil change 1000 miles ago
new pcv valve
new spark plugs

Have not checked:
tires

How much of a difference could what i have not checked make?
I do occasionally race to the next red light, though I rarely get above 3500 rpm doing so, and I do not drive like a granny. I do plenty of street starts and highway merges from a standstill as well as a DC driver. I make short trips, and this is all city mileage. I get 180-220 miles to a full 18.5 gal tank TOPS. Something horrible seems wrong.

yeah huh, check the psi in all ur tires make sure they're up to spec, then drive ur car to about half tank and dont race so hard let the sucker shift earlier like at 3 k, dont take her to redline alot and see what kinda mileage u got then....... then come back to us and give us another reading

i'm sure his tire pressure isn't THAT bad. At least it would have been something he would have noticed!

fuel filter replaced??

with proper tire pressure, add 40 miles to that 220, and thats 260...thats reasonable for hard city driving for a full tank. maybe he's using regular gas too, instead of premium.

I was getting around 260 miles to a tank, that was with driving it hard, a little. When I put my tire pressure up to spec and didn't drive it hard I got 300, with about 5 gallons left in the tank. Thats all city driving.
