Question about tire wear.

Ok, I have Pirelli touring tires on my stock sawblade rims. I have about 6500 miles on them, and about 5 months on them. I squeal the tires off of lights at least once a day, and do good sized skidmarks on my friend's driveway about once a week. My question is, is it normal to have ALOT more tire wear in the front than in the back? I have about 4-5 CM of tread left in the back, and around 1.5-2 CM of tread on the front. They have never been rotated, but my dad says they shouldnt have to be at this point. Is it normal to have this much tire wear on the front tires? Are there certain brands of tires that are harder and that will last longer? Please help, I dont want to have to spend some money on new tires so my dad doesnt know what Ive been doing with these. Thanks in advance, and sorry it's kinda long.

Maxima is FWD car, of course the front wheel tires are gonna wear more than the back... no biggies, just make sure you do a tire rotation after some miles...

at least this method applies to my alti...

Its the same for the maximas. Burning out eats tire tread. And since it is a FWD car, its the front tires that get all the abuse.

And then you ask...

is it normal to have ALOT more tire wear....
You have a lot more things on your car that your causing premature ware on by driving it like this. Engine mounts, Constant Velocity Joints (your drive shafts), control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rods ect ect ect.

Your car will become a high maintenance vehicle ($$$$) if you continue abusing it like that.

I know all of this, but what I want to know is if it's normal to have this much tire wear after only 6500 miles.

No, to put it plainly. Stop squeeling your tires. Otherwise you're going to have to buy new tires all the time. It's advised to rotate tires every 3,000 - 5,000 miles. And your dad doesn't know what he's talking about saying it doesn't matter now. You will have much better traction up front if you rotate your tires. And it will save you from buying new tires already. Be nice to your car and it will be nice to you.

I think you mean MM. I think most tires when brand new typically have a tread depth of 8mm-11mm. Are you tires a super soft compound? Either way, you better set aside a chunk of money for new tires. You tires with the 1.5-2mm may aquaplane when you've got a heavy rainfall. Be real careful.

If you want tires that will last long, look for 300 AA rating or better. If you want serious grip, look for 200 AA or lower. Always a tradeoff. The grippier tires don't last, and the ones that do, don't grip as well.
