Electrical troubles
Is there a way for a battery to lose most of its charge in a short period of time? Al the accessories in the car work fine, and I dont think there are any shorts..... My alternator seems to be working fine, and putting out enough current....
Any ideas on things for me to check for?

The battery is a Nissan battery...... Im assuming its the original one... I havent gotten the new battery yet..... I need to take the car to Autozone to get the Alternator checked (I dont have a Voltmeter).... I have a feature on my Radar detector that lets me see how many volts my electrical system is putting out, and its usually around 13.3 or 13.2.....but thats not a good diagnosis of the charging system though.. lol.....
i would get a new battery, and highly reccomend one with 700 to 900 cold crank9ng amps..autzone has a deal..900 cold cranking and 1000 regular cranking for 80 bucks..duralst gold battery that i just got...i would recommend this and new blets,, then see how the car acts... If symptoms persit then get a new alternator right off the bat..
it seems like your car is choking when it starts..i bet if you start the car without your seatbelt on.. listen to the seatbelt warning chime..listen to the way it beeps while starting..are the beeps consistent or choking along with the starting of the car????
Don't rush to the solution without a diagnosis-
1) Loosen & retighten the charging system grounds & connections, including those to the alternator.
2) Clean your battery terminals & retighten for a fresh connection.
3) Apply dielectric grease to the battery terminals and other connections.
4) Check the water level in each battery cell - if it is low, add distilled water to the indicated fill level.
5) Check the condition of your individual battery cells using a hydrometer ($3-$5 at any auto parts store) Wear protective eyewear - battery acid is corrosive & can blind you/burn skin).
6) If neccessary, charge the battery overnight using a trickle charger to see if it will take/hold a full charge.
7) Using a digital multimeter, measure output from the alternator (just put the test leads on the + and - posts of the battery) with the car running and the throttle held at approximately 2,500rpm. If the alternator is ok, it should be putting out 13.25-14.00+ volts.
8) Also, be sure to check the condition and tension of your serpentine belt (the one that drives the alternator). Replace the belt or adjust the tension (using the tensioner adjustment nut on top of the tensioner pulley) if neccessary. Be careful not to overtighten, as this will lead to premature pulley bearing failure!
Those are the basics to start with. Hope this helps.

true...but the battery is type old and needs replacing as it is..i mite not hold a chrge anymore and causing wear on the alternator..i had the same problem and the betls were cracked to teh point were it was spinning on the spine of the belts ready to snap..
