maxspeed spring users look!

i have a set of maxspeeds under my bed with agx. gonna install soon.but wanna know bout the afterdrop with these springs. is the drop even?... i notice the max sits lower in back. i was planning on cutting half a coil off the front to even it up. also is camber in spec without a kit. ill still be on the stock sawblades. do these relatively soft springs do good to end the mushy handling of the max?thanks.. pics would be appreciated.. how many inch gap is betwwen tires and well now? thanks..later

The drop on my car is completely even. It is always good to get an alignment after dropping it. You will not need a camber kit.

It will handle nicely with the AGX.... adjustability at your fingertips.

BTW: why didn't you ask these questions before buying the stocks and springs.....

The Maxspeeds drop the front more than the rear, enough that the car sits even or even looks sightly lower in the front. I love the 'raked' look of the slightly lower front but I decided to go with the H&Rs that have been around for a while and are proven. The H&Rs also drop the front more than the rear but not as much as the Maxspeeds. The car looks even or slightly higher in the front with H&Rs. They should handle better than stock.

I wish my drop ended up even! I don't think H&R's on all occasions drop the car even, and I'm not sure why. I have rear sag and I hate it. I had to put spacers in the rear to give mine the agressive look. Problem being the car doesn't looked droped as much. The springs are in right and checked over by JAY25. I think Iansw also has a problem with sag when others say they don't with his B&G's. What's up with this??? Good luck w/ the Maxspeeds....hope you get the same results everone is claiming and are sag free!

i think its the way the fenders are that make the car look lower in the front than it is in the rear

WHere did you find the spacers?

And a side note, before Dave B. busts in here... The car sits even stock, but since the front wheel well is cut higher the front appears to be higher and has more wheel well gap.

Regardless how it was cut...it looks saggy and that's no good. The spacer I got were from PepBoys...like $10 or something, but they have to be shaved down a little or they will lighlty rub your strut when you put them in.

when u guys say even drop.. do u mean te car is even or is the gap in the front and back is the same.. im lookin for a drop that makes the gaps even the same. if the car is tilted to the front a lil bit is ok with me. is the maxspeed drop even in respects to the wheel gap?

I have a 5 spd. GXE. I have 4 finger gap in front and 3 in the back ...

but when you look at the car from the side it looks even. the ride is very smooth (sometimes to smooth for my likings) but with agx you should be happy!

good luck!

My Maxspeed's gave me a nice, even drop as well. The nice thing about 'em is that it makes the Max look like it should have looked from the factory... and it stiffened up my ride noticeably compared to my GXE suspension, but not too much. It still rides smooth.

Here's a few pics of my drop if you want to see what it looks like. You can see that it's a bit higher in the rear.

(those pics are with my 17's, but I have pics with my stock 16" SE rims on my homepage if you wanna see what it looks like)

The front is 3 a finger gap and the rear are a 4 finger gap...its hard to tell untill you look very close. Almost forgot...I had my Maxspeeds on for more than a year now. And it hasn't given me any problems

they are supposedly comparebly to h&r.. like 15% stiffer than se suspension.. good for street and a mildly agressvie everyday driver..if your going autox or track..then these arnt for you. all depends on what u want..

I love the drop I got from that combo. Its not too much and not too little.

Ride is nice, except for the noises but I will get them fixed soon.
