since everyone on the forums keeps saying how it may not be the knock sensor but something else, i'll ask about the other code i also got: ECU code 1008 - "purg volume cont/v" now can anyone PLEASE tell me what this means and what I should do??

also if this code went away and the knock sensor one did too, would my acceleration then come back?

It sounds like it has something to do with the EGR valve. Sorry I don't know enough about it to be more specific.

 

now with the search feature running again there used to be a thread in FAQ to find exactly what each code ment , all u had to do was type it and it would come up

if u decide to buy a knock sensor , buy mine NIB bosch 105 shipped
