Pics of custom painted alteezas??
There was a thread a couple of days ago about someone who successfully took apart alteezas and painted the chrome parts. I need to see pics of these please. If anyone has them or knows the cardomain site please post. Thanks

BullJive: I normally don't like large diameter wheels on maximas but yours are an exception. Tight.

YES!!! Your the man!!! That is exactly what I was lookin for. I think it looks alot better than the sexima (skyline) mod. The fact that you can see the depth, and also the edges left alone looks surpisingly good.
Now how do we do this?......I assume the process is similar to clearin out stock tails. But I heard these lenses don't like to come apart as easy as the o/e tails.
Post once you do this and LMK how it went. Thanks!

I ahve the pics of the inside painted, on a white max....better pic than the one in this post. I will put it up when I'm off work. Also, I ahve a black Maxima, I was going to go this way...but wne ta different way....I painted the inside of the lense, and the chrome part. The reason I painted the chrome part is if people looked fromt he side, and basically for a better job. The painted inside lense looks amazing, much better than outside becasue it doesn't have that painted look or feel to it. And no joke it looks purchased not a home made mod. It's tough though you really have to go at it, removing teh silver paint is a pain in the *** because some of the spots are really tight, I'll put pics up tomorrow of my finished lights.

OK here are the links to the pics of my painted lights. I took them apart the same way you would to clear your lights out, but these are very fragile so I was very careful. To make the circles, once they where opened I rested the lens in it's position as if it where not open, then position my circle template on top aligning it over the red light. Then I traced it with a marker. for the circle I actually had some stickers around that where exactly 5inches in diameter. then from the inside I positioned it with the outline I did, and then painted the lens from on the inside. I also painted the whole housing so that no carbon fiber was visible from any angle. Links to pics are below. But I'll say it again...getting rid of all of the silver painted border was a pain in the a$$! But I truly think this is the best look, and feel. My emblems are not on right now, since I'm going to detail the whole body. Enjoy

Ya it looks even better in person, looks purchased. Everybody asks me where I bought them. Not the easiest job though, maybe with practice it will become easier. The stickers I used where perfect also, becasue they where vinyl so I didn't have to worry about them ripping, and being a pain in the a$$ to take off.

Thanks! Hmmmm...yes it might be a bit hard to do it with your color. But if you get the color bang on it could look good, only one way to find out really. But I don't see why it wouldn't.

If i could do it over again, i wouldve waited for a Black/Blue/Sterling mist color...

elcid, that's looking good man. one suggestion that i think would be awesome would be to open them up again, and do the now called "DTM" (dallas tail light mod) to your reverse lense. it would still light up the same just look more bada$$ when off. just an idea...i'd love to see someone with a dark max do it.
i'm opening my altezzas tomorrow to try to paint but my car is white so i dunno if it would look good.
