quick question

If I have 99 stock stereo speakers with OUT the boss system, and i'm replacing...can I just pry out the screens/grills that I have, or do I still need to take off the door panel? Thanks in advance.

take off the door panels...its safter than pryin it out. If I remember correctly, it is all one anyway. Thats how I did it....If you are replacing the rear deck speakers, that will be the hardest part. Basically the whole back has to be removed (back seat/back pillars/rear deck). I got everything done at Best Buy where I bought the speakers.

have you checked the audio forums FAQ?? They have all the diagrams you would need... i think you'd have to remove the door panel.

You have to remove the door panels. There is no other way. That grill cannot be removed by prying it unless you break it.

thanks for the info guys.
btw, I did check the faqs but that specifically was for Boss systems, i thought maybe that was just cause you had to take out the boss crossovers (or whatever they are).
But turns out its the same with or without boss...
i just took the panels off and installed speakers, sounds nice.
Next up...rear speakers, thinkin bout cutting space for 6x8s or 6x9s.
