So on our way back from a crappy day at the track, Mecca(Meccanoble) and I had a few races on the Parkway. We both have intake and ypipe, and 17" rims but he has OBX catback. He also has a heavy system in the trunk. I have a clogged fuel filter and need a tune up badly.

Race went like this: from 40mph(2nd gear) - 100(beginning of 4rth: we are always side by side until 5k rpm when he would start inching forward real slow.

4rth gear pull from 40mph-110: same thing. side by side until 4.8k-5k rpm when he would inch ahead.

Did I loose because my car was not tuned or was it something else. It's definitely not driving skills cause we raced through 4rth gear without shifting and he still pulled at 5k. Am I losing that much power with a clogged filter?

you have stock exhaust?

 

I have ypipe but stock catback. but that can't be why he won. catback adds no more than 5hp. Also I should've beaten him easily cause he has a 200lb system in the trunk.
