K&N Filter installation question
I know you guys are thinking how hard can it be its just a drop in, Well my question is regarding the two rubber paddings/gaskets that came with the filter. In the instructions say to put one on the lower side and one on the upperside but since we dont have the same filter configaration I just stuck them on the two long sides of the filter box. They didnt really stick prefectly well because the surface is not totally flush/flat there is a little dimple there.
So now my question is do i have to make sure the gaskets are glued on really well? Did everyone put these gaskets in or can we just leave them out?
I just wanna make sure I dont let dirt into the intake cause the filter is not in tight.
thnx!

ok! so does anyone have these paddings or should I just take mine out? Oh and how often should i clean the filter? It says every 50,000 miles but that seems like a very long time to me. I am a NYC driver and the dirt and dust in NY driving usally have caused me to change my filter every 10,000 - 12,000 miles.
